The famous Shibuya Crossing

Another Tokyo highlight and a favourite of all visitors, is to witness the Shibuya crossing during rush hour. Since we went to Tokyo on a weekend, we were unable to see firsthand the ridiculous amounts of people dressed in black suits crossing at 5pm.

However, what we did see was still pretty amazing. Hailed as one of the (if not THE) busiest intersections in the world, this is what it looked like at midday on a typical Saturday.

First, we watched the mayhem from a safe distance at the second level of a Starbucks.

Then we thought we see it for ourselves at ground level, and cross the intersection with other people. And it was pretty crazy. People from so many angles coming at once towards the same intersection. Lots of weaving and shuffling to cross it in 60 seconds.

Yet another memorable experience!
