Vietnam - Halong Bay

While we were in Hanoi, Matt and I took a side trip, specifically a 2 day/ 1night boat cruise to Halong Bay. Halong Bay is a World UNESCO heritage site, and is famously known for its thousands of limestone karsts and islets spread over the bay.

After many hours of searching for the right company and junk boat, we went with Dragon Pearl due to great TripAdvisor reviews. And we weren't disappointed. The boat was nice and clean, the staff was attentive and helpful, the other guests were friendly and easy to get along with, and the itinerary provided us with many wonderful excursions and time for relaxation and exploration.

The 2 day / 1 night itinerary that takes us around Bai Tu Long and Halong Bay with stops at Thien Canh Cave, Cap La Island, and Vung Vhien Fishing Village.

Halong Bay was very picturesque and we had everything in our favour on this trip - great temperature, beautiful clear blue sky with white fluffy clouds, and breathtaking scenery. I hope these pictures do it justice.

Without further ado....

Our boat and living accommodations for the next few days - Dragon Pearl. And look - the staff is waving and smiling at our arrival. Great start!

Doesn't this look like a teapot? I don't see it....maybe a moka pot at best.

On our way back to Hanoi, we stopped at the Yen Duc Village to watch a water puppet show. This is a must do and unique activity in Vietnam.

Amazing, unforgettable experience. We will never forget you, Halong Bay. You have been very good to us and we will have fond memories of the time we spent together forever.
